Newly elected Governor, Jerry Brown, releases his 2011-2012 Budget; the California Library Association (CLA) declares “Library Funding Decimated.”

If passed, the Governor’s Budget proposal will completely eliminate state funding for the following programs: Public Library Foundation, California Library Literacy and English Acquisition Services, and the California Library Services Act. Library cuts would total $30.4 million.

Read about the specifics of the proposed State Library Budget. Contact your local Assembly Members and Senators and urge them to reject these devastating cuts.
